Parks & Recreation

To help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), please note the following changes we have made to protect public health:

  • Effective March 16 at 4:30 p.m., the Community Center and the Civic Center East will be closed through at least June 1. 
  • All rentals for the Community Center and Civic Center East are canceled through May 18. Pavilion rentals and park permits are also canceled through June 1. Anyone who had a reservation will have the option to have a refund or re-book their event for after June 1. 
  • The senior trip to Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial and the 17th Annual Community Art Fair are cancelled.
  • The Blue Ribbon Home Awards for 2020 have been pushed back to 2021.
  • All playground equipment, basketball courts, tennis courts and the disc golf course are closed, but parks and trails remain open.
  • The Senior Bus will continue normal operations. Staff will deep clean the bus daily.


The Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Division maintains:

  • 16 community parks totaling 159 acres
  • An 18 hole Disc Golf Course
  • A BMX/Skate park
  • Family aquatic center and sprayground
  • A fishing pond
  • The senior/disabled citizen transportation service
  • A Sports Complex for organized baseball and softball competition
  • Two recreation centers, complete with rental facilities
